Why Join Us?
If you thrive on change, or are frustrated by red tape and just want to make it happen - this is your kind of place. For talented individuals there is no limit to the speed of progression.
We offer competitive salaries and all the benefits you would expect from a large organisation.
There is nothing standard about our benefits package!
At the Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, we value you, your skills, achievements and dedication.
Designed with individual needs in mind, we give you more - competitive salary and bonus scheme, attractive pension scheme, a range of Group banking and financial benefits through to extensive savings on flights and hotels!
Here is just a taste of what we offer.
Depending on which role grouping you fall into you will be entitled to either 25 or 30 days' annual leave entitlement:
In addition, you'll also get an additional 8 statutory days in England and 9 in Scotland. All holiday entitlements will be pro-rated for key-time employees who work less than 5 days per week.
The Company's Defined Contribution Pension Scheme is called Total Pension! The Company pays 5% per annum of your Pensionable Salary whether or not you choose to contribute. If you elect to make regular monthly contributions the Company will match your regular contributions up to a further 5% of your Pensionable Salary. This means that for a 5% contribution 15% will be deposited in your retirement investment account.
As you would expect, we offer beneficial banking benefits for all permanent employees - everything from reduced rate mortgages to discounted travel insurance.
If you have more than 26 weeks service at your qualifying date your maternity pay and leave entitlement is:
12 weeks' full pay
6 weeks' half pay
21 weeks' Statutory Maternity Pay
13 weeks' unpaid
Maximum of 52 weeks' leave
Employees are due 2 weeks paid paternity leave (they are paid at their normal salary).
We have great people policies and we work hard to ensure they are actually used. In addition we continually seek feedback from employees on how these are working in practice. Hear are a couple of examples of the types of policies we have in place.
In support of the Company's Family Friendly Policies we operate a Childcare Voucher scheme, which is open to all parents. Employees who join the scheme are able to contribute a proportion of their gross salary towards the cost of childcare in a Tax and National Insurance efficient manner.
This has proven to be very popular amongst new mums returning from maternity leave. Together with the positive support for flexible working, this has resulted in the bank increasing the number of returners from maternity leave from 60% to 77%.
Here flexible working is not restricted to women or to parents! Everyone has a life outside of work and we offer employees opportunities to balance work and home life.
We have responsibilities as an organisation to care for our environment, our customers, the communities we operate in and for our employees. These are responsibilities which we take very seriously and we are proud of our achievements.
All employees, who have successfully completed their probationary period, are entitled to two days (14hrs) per annum to participate in volunteering activities. Our belief is that this not only benefits the community but our staff also gain through learning new skills, giving something back, engaging with the local community and most of all feeling good and having fun!
